Young Professionals of the North Baldwin Chamber Award $8,000 in Scholarships to local Students

May 23, 2018 -- Bay Minette, AL

The Young Professionals of the North Baldwin Chamber work in support of the mission of the chamber, specifically focusing on education and workforce development efforts. In 2012 the Young Professionals held the inaugural Delta Dash 5k+ Mud Run Obstacle Course in the Tensaw Delta.  Delta Dash is the primary fundraiser for the Young Professionals. Six years later, because of Delta Dash, the Young Professionals have raised over $128,000 that has been put back in to the North Baldwin Community through the Chamber of Commerce, Scholarships to local students, and other educational endeavors in our community.

As of May 23,2017, the Young Professionals have awarded $47,000 over the last 6 years just in scholarships to Baldwin County High School Seniors and students at Coastal Alabama Community College and Huntingdon College in Bay Minette. The Scholarship recipients are chosen based on a combination of Academic Excellence paired with a proven dedication and commitment to serve their community.

"It is my honor to present the scholarships on behalf of the Young Professionals of the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce," said Charlotte England, Young Professional and Scholarship Committee member, at a reception honoring recipients on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.

"Our Young Professionals have worked very hard over the last six years creating what has become a tourist attracting event through Delta Dash," said Ashley Jones Davis, Executive Director for the North Baldwin Chamber, "Seeing the scholarships awarded is just one small part of the impact that the event has made on our Chamber and our Community. I'm very appreciative and proud of the work they continue to do each year."
